Kelley Fisher of the United Kingdom served notice that the women players will be contending honors in the Philippine when she beat Timo Makela of Finland 9-7.
The match was tight throughout with Makela taking the lead initially. Once Fisher knotted the count at 5-5 and took the lead at 6-5, however, the British pro did not let go.
She finished off the 16th rack in impressive fashion by running out the table.
